After a glorious week of warmth and lots of scurrying around, I am thrilled to say my paintings are on the walls at Everglades Gallery and I am ready to welcome you through the doors!
The gardens are verdant and my work appears bright in the beautiful light that floods the gallery. A retired squash court, the space is airy and radiant - perfect for all my skies. The large work I completed a few weeks ago, Late Thursday, pictured below, is the centrepiece of my part of the exhibition.
Fellow Blue Mountains artist, Owen Thompson, is showing with me. His work explores the subtle, complex textures of local trees and rock forms in watercolour, acrylic and oils. Fifty-six pictures in all, together our paintings are a feast for the senses.
Further feasting can be had at the Everglades tea rooms on weekends, and of course at the opening tomorrow! Homemade scones, frittatas made with my chooks’ eggs, fruity canapés and a selection of cool drinks and bubbly are just some of the fare you can expect. Don’t forget to mention when arriving that you are coming to the opening as your entry to the garden is complimentary.
I hope to see you 1 - 3 pm tomorrow at Leura’s Everglades Gardens
