$3,700.00

This work seems almost to have an ‘inner light’. One of my artistic heroes, Mark Rothko, the American abstractionist, spoke about seeking inner light in his paintings, as achieved by 15th-century Italian artist Titian. Studying Rothko’s work taught me about the subtle dynamics of colour, the value of transparency and opacity, and the spatial relationships of warm and cool hues. The marks in this painting lead your gaze upwards and invite you to embrace the experience of falling into the sky.
