When I travelled to South Africa recently, I was captivated and inspired by the landscapes of my childhood. I returned home with a portfolio filled with images, sensations and ideas to explore in my studio.
Nature - Beautiful but not Benign
While my landscape paintings are arguably beautiful, they escape the banality of beauty for its own sake. As in my work, you intuitively recognise that nature is not controllable and its beauty is ephemeral.
Nature, Painting and Spirit...
Nature plays a large role in the 'narratives' explored on my canvases. It is through connecting with nature that I experience spiritual and physical awareness and renewal.
