Would you like to play a vital role in the success of my forthcoming exhibition? Even if you are unable to attend, I am curious to hear what you would most like explained in my artist's talk.
If you’re keen, you can contact me with any questions you have about my paintings and process, or generally about creativity and art-making?
Perhaps you have always wanted to know if I need to feel inspired to paint, or if I simply clock in like a regular job. Or you may be wondering why on earth I start my paintings with bright red or yellow acrylic washes.., why I have so many paintbrushes.., or how I work out what to paint next...
It is exciting to be exhibiting the 18 new paintings I have made since July. As you know, some of them were made during my recent exploration of the Warrumbungle and Wollemi National Parks and have a unique flavour of those places. The others have been labours of love in my studio, here in the Lower Blue Mountains, and reflect my experience of this landscape.
The title of the exhibition, Into & Beyond, points to themes that recur in my work - my experience of encountering and being embraced by the sacred in nature - of being both grounded and taken beyond, into expansive space and light.
I do hope you will be able to join me on either Saturday 3rd or Sunday 4th of December, between 10 am and 4 pm or at my artist's talk, and to enjoy a glass of sparkling, a cup of tea and canapés at 4 pm on Saturday.
