About Capertee Mountain View Artist Retreat

Capertee Mountain View Artist Retreat is a privately held rural property offering artists the opportunity to work within a large-scale, open landscape setting.

The property includes expansive paddocks, bushland, and uninterrupted views across the valley escarpments. Artists may choose to work directly within the landscape or from the Woolshed studio.

Accommodation is provided either in restored vintage caravans or via camping with your own setup. All residents have access to shared studio, kitchen, and bathroom facilities.

The property is located near Wollemi National Park and within the broader Capertee Valley region, known for its ecological and geological significance.

To maintain accessibility, residents are asked to bring their own linen (sheets and towels). If this presents difficulty, arrangements can be made on request.

Residents are expected to maintain their own accommodation and use shared spaces with care. Occasional, minimal contributions to shared upkeep may be required as part of living within a shared rural environment.

About The Capertee Valley

The Capertee Valley lies north of Lithgow and forms part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area.

The region is also recognised for its biodiversity and is a significant inland bird habitat, forming part of the well-known Capertee Valley birding area.

Its combination of geological structure, atmospheric variation, and relative isolation provides conditions well suited to sustained observation and place-based practice.

Getting to Capertee Mountain View Artist Retreat

The property is most easily accessed by car.
