This stand of trees grows in the ‘unremarkable’ bush near my home in the Blue Mountains. As I walk there daily I open my awareness to notice what is happening and changing. I invite metaphors to be evoked in the forms of the trees, rocks, lichen and creatures. This act of paying deep attention leads me to paint particular places that would otherwise be passed over as of no significance.
