So much seems to be happening, but happily, I seldom feel busy. I don't like to be rushed and try to fill my life with conscious actions that feel spacious and value-driven. Despite that, I am writing a kind of 'newsy' article today.
Firstly, I am currently preparing for a plein air painting trip to a beautiful spot just west of the Blueys, in Capertee. Steve and Donata of Dalli's Campground are kindly hosting me for 10 days to explore and paint in the vicinity. I am full of anticipation about tramping through The Garden of Stones National Park. It looks sensational, as does the vast canyon surrounding Glen Davis. Apparently, the bird life at Dalli's is wonderfully diverse and plentiful, I guess because Coco Creek flows through the campground. Apart from the natural beauty I'll be experiencing, I'm looking forward to the open fires and there's even a pizza oven in the camp kitchen! (Fortunately, my daughter is an excellent cook, as I'll no doubt be too weary after a day of wandering and painting to be creating culinary delights.)
As part of my visit to Dalli's, I will be running a plein air sketching workshop on site on Sunday 1st October, at 3.30 pm. You can contact me or Donata at Dalli's directly for more information about that.
Before the year rounds out I have several painting workshops scheduled, that you can enroll in. There are a number of dynamic Friday night 'Creativity Shots' happening, modeled on Paint and Sip classes, but with my artist's edge. Participants of these workshops leave with a unique work, reflecting their own interpretation of the theme. But we also sip bubbly and have lots of laughs!
In addition, I have workshops called The Essentials of Painting Workshop - Painting Technique for Beginners & Intermediates on Sunday 29 Oct, from 1.30 to 4.30 pm, and Mastering the Dynamics of Colour Painting Workshop on 26 November 2023, from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. Both these workshops are already filling up, so please book soon to secure your spot. Needless to say, they will be awesome fun, packed with technique and insights, and well-fuelled with my delicious cooking!
Here's what Sunday's workshop participants had to say:
Corinne is warm, encouraging, patient, calm and deeply hospitable! - Amanda, Glenbrook
Corinne provided guidance and advice, helping me to understand when something wasn’t working and pivoting to try something different. - Liz, Ropes Crossing
What I found most valuable was the good structure of the class and the very useful hints Corinne gave. - Michael, Manly
Well, that's it, folks. Take care and have a beautiful beginning of Spring weekend.
By popular demand, Corinne has scheduled a second painting retreat in March
