While in the Warrumbungles I noticed my gaze shift from the mountain ranges and recognizable tors to ‘non-descript’ places like this collection of trees. The dark trunks seemed to act as a barrier or line of containment, standing between me and the distant mountains. The dead tree in the foreground speaks to me of transitions and the paradox of beauty in death.
